‘Tis The Season For Giving – Here’s Where to Donate All Year

We round up seven of our favorite charities helping women in the U.S. and U.k

It’s Giving Tuesday! A wonderful tradition where we’re all encouraged to donate to charity to offset the conspicuous consumption of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Here at Restless, we love an excuse to do good, (a reminder that a portion of your Restless subscription goes to a different charity each month) but let’s all remember that every day is another opportunity to create positive change.

There are a lot of ways to do good in this world. You don’t need to have access to tons of money to make a difference. Often, just a ten dollar donation can go a long way. Read on for a list of some of our favorite charities to donate to.

Charities to Give All Your Cash To

Rape Crisis England & Wales

The organization we’re donating to this month, Rape Crisis is the umbrella organization for a network of independent Rape Crisis Centers who provide a range of specialist services for women and girls that have been raped or experienced any form of sexual violence – whether as adults or as children. Survivors know how essential getting the right care is after assault. If you want to spend your money on helping women, you’d be hard pressed to find a more direct way to increase access to essential resources.

Bloody Good Period

This was the charity we donated to over the course of November and they’re doing vital work providing period products to refugees and low income women. If you believe in refugee rights and eradicating period poverty, this one’s for you.

RAICES Texas

This organization works to defend the rights of migrants and refugees and advocates for liberty and justice. They are doing essential work at the U.S./Mexican border to combat the abuse inflicted by the Trump administration.

The Survivors Trust

The Survivors Trust provides critical support to women, men, and children who have survived sexual assault and abuse.

She Should Run

She Should Run is here to increase the amount of women in office. If you’re anything like us, you’re tired of a bunch of white dudes running the country. Donating to this organization can be your way of making the country a better place to live – for all of us.

Center for Reproductive Rights

The Center for Reproductive Rights uses the law to advance reproductive rights as fundamental human rights around the world – and we’re here for it! Right now they are preparing for a show down in the Supreme Court, this is a huge battle, so the time to donate is now.

The Trevor Project

This is a trusted organization that provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention for LGBTQ youth under 25.

Plan International

This is an international charity that strives towards gaining gender equality and advancing children’s rights. Child marriage, gender based violence, and increasing education for women are just a few of the issues that they address throughout the world.

Savera UK

Savera works to protect women who are at risk of honor based violence, FGM, domestic abuse, and forced marriage within Black and Ethnic Minority (BME) communities in the UK.
