Mercury retrograde, anyone?
Mercury went retrograde on January 30th, and kicked off the month of love in a less than canoodling way. Feeling colder? More closed off? A bit scattered? You’re not alone. We have the retrograde happening in Aquarius to thank for that. Leave it up to the free-spirited sign to make us feel a bit directionless.
Luckily, for most of us, we can use this time to nurture our sense of self. What is it that we want? Are we on the right path? How can we move forward in all areas of our lives in a more intentional way? Read on to see what the stars have in store for you this February. Don’t forget to check your sun, moon, and rising signs.
And be sure to back up your computers, stat.
He said, she said is the name of the game this month for you, Aries, and we aren’t gonna lie, it’s going to frustrate you. You won’t know where to direct your anger and frustrations (or your affections), but here’s the thing… you’re savvy, so we know you’ll figure it out. Rejoice in that! Love doesn’t appear to be in the cards for you this month, but with Mercury Retrograde, do we really need to invest our energy into anything other than self-care and backing up our electronics? This month, you’re going to feel a bit discombobulated when it comes to how others perceive you. Are there too many people throwing their ideas and opinions your way? It’s time to hush the madness. The new moon on the 11th of the month will help you reflect and project how you see yourself into the tangible world. This matters. After all, we do love Aries for their authenticity.
We get it, Taurus, you’re persnickety. Lucky for you and your alluring ways, you tend to get whatever it is you want… so long as you’re in control. If you happen to lose the reigns, your bullish nature rears its ugly head and you feel uncomfortable and out of your element. Unfortunately, this is where you’ll spend most of your February when it comes to your place of work. You seek peace. As a grounded Earth sign, you want nothing more than harmony and bliss, but Mercury retrograde is going to ensure that doesn’t always happen for you this month. Your coworkers will somehow ignore you and overwhelm you at the same time. Life will get lighter when Mercury stations direct on the 25th. Until then, try your best to remain on top, but don’t feel hesitant about indulging in extra self-care this month to calm your anxious mind. If anyone in the zodiac knows indulgence in self, it’s you, Taurus.
Gemini, you thrive during Mercury Retrograde. It’s your ruling sign after all. Some people look at you with envy during this time, but it isn’t your fault you thrive during chaos. You’re used to it! You’re equipped to handle Mercury’s rath, but you should still proceed with caution. You can never be too careful. Take heed when it comes to work-related matters this month. Double, and even triple, check your work before calling it a day. A minor mishap could cause you a great deal of discomfort. Fortunately, for you, you don’t mind getting down and dirty, especially when your reputation is on the line. Play it safe, and it won’t be.
We know you have a lot of feelings, Cancer, and you’re definitely going to be immersed in them this month. With the onset of Mercury retrograde, all you’ll want to do is curl up at home with a blanket and a book and call it a day. And you know what? That’s a perfectly good day if you ask us. This stillness you give yourself will allow you the chance to look inward and reevaluate important areas of your life. What do you want, really? Where do you see yourself going? What can you cut ties with to ensure you aren’t weighed down? Seek solace. Retreat into your shell this month and you’ll hear the call. Be sure not to ignore your emotions, however, but as one of the more intuitive and softer signs in the zodiac, we don’t believe you’ll have an issue with this, at all.
Relationships are tricky, Leo. You know this, because, in many ways, you’re quite complex too. This month, part of you is in the mood for intimacy, but the other part is primed for misunderstandings. Was that compliment sincere? Did someone misinterpret what you said? Now is probably not the time to try to nurture or begin something fleeting or hard to attain. Long distance relationships or flings can wait. Focus on your primary, long-term relationships right now. Give them the TLC they desperately need. Your ability to channel your charismatic, alpha lion nature will be in high gear this month… and it’ll work. But just because you’re mighty charming doesn’t’ always mean you should use it. Sometimes it’s a crutch for you. Try to break that cycle. Take a pause when you need to recollect your thoughts this month. And, remember, even when you feel like your life is out of control, you have the power to course correct.
Like the twins in the zodiac, you’re ruled by Mercury, Virgo, so sometimes retrogrades can be a little easier on your system than for other signs. This retrograde, however, is shining its light on your health and wellness routine and is asking you to answer if you’re doing everything you can to ensure you’re in alignment with your goals. You have a knack for beating yourself up over what you could have done and forget to praise yourself for everything you’re kicking ass at. Stress for you manifests as health issues, so sit back, relax, and really listen to your body. What makes you feel good? Do more of that. The full moon in Virgo at the end of the month encourages you to place your accomplishments alongside your dreams and aspirations on that high pedestal we know you all have. Viewing them together will reenergize you, and you’ll be able to hit the ground running full steam ahead.
Dear Libra, prepare to feel delicious this month. Venus moves into your house of creativity and at the top of the month, and you’re full of the carefree, go with the flow vibes. Don’t forgo your responsibilities altogether, because that could cause you unnecessary stress, but your penchant for play this month is in full swing. To shake things up and prevent boredom, tackle a new hobby this month or dust off the old board games and get to playing with your significant other. If you’re single, call up your gal pals and have a (socially distant) evening of chatter and laughter. Enjoy it while it lasts, because mid-month, you’ll be redirecting your playfulness into wellness to establish better routines. Pro tip for you this month, Libra: drink water, get enough sleep, and fire up the meditation app. You’ll thank yourself later.
Typically, you’re able to rejoice in the fact that you made your home a haven. Because of Mercury retrograde, this idea may feel foreign to you and cause you to second-guess every single nesting decision you’ve ever made. Take a breather. Remember what you’re made of and go with the flow. Water signs thrive on their intuition, so tap into yours as often as you need to. This will be especially helpful this month as you redefine what home means to you. The new moon on the 11th won’t hurt either. Find solace in your mind and what your gut is telling you. There, you’ll find home.
No one wants to be the bearer of bad news, Sag, but this time it’s us, and we’re here to tell you that this Mercury retrograde has the potential to rock your world… and not in a particular sexy way. Be prepared for wonky communication, brain fog, and misinterpretations and miscommunications left and right. We’re sorry to say, but not much will feel all that stable for the first couple weeks of February, and this is bound to set your fiery sign ablaze. Later in the month when the full moon peaks around the 27th, you’ll find more stability in your life, particularly where your career is involved. Soak it up. High praise, a promotion, or some public credit for something you’ve achieved could be en route to you. Keep your eyes peeled so you don’t miss it.
Cap, you’re an earth child through and through and like to maintain your grounded connection. Your desire for security and stability is paramount, which makes this Mercury retrograde especially trying – particularly where money is involved. You aren’t going to experience a financial hit, but you’ll worry yourself about it regardless. Don’t let your fears and insecurities drive you to extreme measures. Continue down your carefully crafted path and stay focused. The new moon on the 11th will help you navigate money woes with a fresh, new perspective. Perhaps you’re conjuring up an idea for a new side hustle or business, perhaps a new investment opportunity has struck your fancy. Whatever it may be, remain open to it. But don’t be too open too quickly. Stay grounded. That’s never an issue for you, Cap.
January was rough on your self-love sector, Aquarius. February brings about the heat. Thank goodness. If you’ve struggled with expressing love for self and others, and even receiving love in the past, prepare for that to shift now that Venus is on your side. You’ll be viewing romance on all levels with a new set of eyes, and it’s bound to shake things up. Let it. Embrace the change with your whole self. It’s time for this new beginning for you. The new moon on the 11th is the cherry on top of your self-love sundae. Indulge in who you are and who you’re becoming, particularly when it comes to your open heart. There’s always room for passion, Aquarius, especially when it’s directed at you, from you.
The sun soon enters your sign, Pisces, but before it does, consider the beginning of February as the soft open for your grand opening celebrations. Use the beginning of the month as a time for reflection, retreating inward and honing your intuition and creative liberties. Questions and thoughts of the past will surface. Be prepared to receive answers and insight. Is there something plaguing you? Is there a past experience you wish you could change? Find some solitude to truly hear the answers you seek. They’re right there. Reach out and grab them. When the 18th of the month rolls around, your world will get a bit louder as the sun enters Pisces and annual celebrations kick off for your sign. As an elusive fish, you have a tendency to want to swim away when things start to get real. We encourage you to stay but make it intentional. Spend time around those you wish to see and no one else. Too many energies can become hectic for you. Craft your place of calm and invite only the most special to inhabit your anemone with you. If you heed the call and retreat when necessary and protect your energy, you’ll be rewarded.
